Why have I had no response after applying?

LiveRec EditorialUpdated

No response after applying? LiveRec cannot say how long an employer will take; the employer sets the pace, and a status can stay the same for some time. A quiet application is not a rejection: if an employer decides against you, the status changes to Not selected. Check the status first, then use the steps below.

What does my status tell me?

StatusWhat it means for waiting
AppliedThe employer has your application and has not moved it yet
In reviewThey are looking at it
InterviewingAn interview is arranged or done. Check Messages and your calendar
OfferedAn offer is waiting. See Accept, decline or counter an offer
Not selectedThey will not go ahead with this application

Open Jobs, then the tab for each status, to see all of your applications. See Application status.

What can I do while I wait?

  1. Check the job. If it closed, applications stop moving. See A job is closed or no longer available.
  2. Check your inbox and Messages. An employer may have asked for something, such as screening answers, a test or documents. See Take an assessment and Upload documents a recruiter requested.
  3. Send one message. From Messages you can send one message about an application before the employer replies. Keep it short: say you are interested and ask whether they need anything more.
  4. Strengthen your profile. Employers review your profile and résumé with the application. See Complete your profile.
  5. Keep applying. Your plan sets how many applications you can send; see Application limits. Express Interest and Priority apply, where your plan has them, can help a specific application stand out.
  6. Withdraw if you have moved on. See Withdraw an application.

Good to know

  • Employers do not see where else you applied.
  • If a status looks wrong, for example Not selected right after you were told you were moving on, open a ticket from Help & support with the job title and company.
