What is the IBPS recruitment process?

LiveRec EditorialUpdated

IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) runs a Common Recruitment Process (CRP) through which participating banks fill posts. The IBPS website lists separate CRPs for RRBs, Customer Service Associates, PO/MTs and Specialist Officers. Candidates apply online on the IBPS site and follow the stages in the notice for that CRP.

This page explains how to follow the process. Dates, vacancies and age limits change every cycle; read the current notice.

At a glance

  • The CRP list on www.ibps.in includes CRP RRBs, CRP CSA, CRP PO/MTs and CRP Specialist Officers.
  • Each CRP has its own notice, eligibility, fee and stages.
  • Jobs are with the participating bank or Regional Rural Bank, after selection through the CRP.
  • Do not pay anyone for a "guaranteed" bank job.

What do the CRP names mean?

CRP CSACustomer service associate posts, per the notice

  2. Read the full notice of the CRP you want: eligibility, age as on the stated date, fee, selection stages and syllabus.
  3. Register and apply online during the dates in the notice.
  4. Download the admit card or call letter from the official site.

What mistakes should you avoid?

  • Applying through a mirror site or an app that is not linked from www.ibps.in.
  • Missing the photo, signature and thumb-impression specifications in the notice.
  • Entering details that do not match your certificates.
  • Assuming the exam pattern from last year. Read this year's notice.

How do you avoid fake IBPS offers?

IBPS selection is by exam and process, not by payment. Messages that say "bank job confirmed, pay a security deposit" are frauds.

If someone asks for money to "fix" a result, reserve a seat or give you a government job, it is a fraud. If you lose money, call 1930 and file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in. To report a suspicious call, SMS or WhatsApp message, use Sanchar Saathi Chakshu (sancharsaathi.gov.in); Chakshu is for reporting suspected fraud messages, not for recovering money already lost. See how to report job fraud in India.

Read the fake government job offers checklist and the official sites list. For general job search, see how to find a job in India.
