Jobs in Singapore for Indians: Employment Pass Guide
India focus. Checked against the destination government's official pages on 30 October 2026. Always confirm on the official site before you apply.
Jobs in Singapore for Indians fall under several kinds of work pass from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), each meant for a different kind of worker. The Employment Pass is for professionals, managers and executives, and the S Pass is for mid-skilled workers. Singapore is not an ECR country.
What are the main work visa routes for Indians in Singapore?
The MOM passes and permits page (last updated 1 June 2026 when checked) lists:
- Employment Pass (EP): for foreign professionals, managers, executives and technicians. Candidates must meet a minimum monthly salary and pass the Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS), a points-based assessment.
- S Pass: for skilled workers, with its own minimum monthly salary.
- Work Permit: for skilled and semi-skilled migrant workers in construction, manufacturing, marine shipyard, process or services sectors, with related permits for domestic workers.
- EntrePass: for foreign entrepreneurs starting a venture-backed or innovative business.
- Overseas Networks and Expertise Pass: for top talent in business, arts and culture, sports, and academia and research.
Salary thresholds are revised from time to time, so read the exact figures on the MOM page rather than on a recruiter's flyer.
What are the ECR implications?
Singapore is not named among the designated ECR countries in the MEA's April 2026 overview, so the emigration clearance rule does not apply to the trip. Your destination visa rules still do. Confirm the current ECR list on eMigrate if you hold an ECR passport. Agents who offer jobs in Singapore still need to be genuine; see how to check an agent.
Scam warning
Never pay anyone who promises a visa, a job or an "approval" abroad. A real employer does not ask you for a visa fee, and an agent can only be trusted after you check the registration yourself (how to check). Read job scam safety for India and how to identify fake job offers in India. If money is already lost, call 1930 and report at cybercrime.gov.in. Use Sanchar Saathi Chakshu to report suspected fraud messages and calls; it does not recover money.
How do I search for jobs that state visa sponsorship?
LiveRec job listings cannot be filtered by sponsorship that employers set, so do not rely on a filter. Instead:
- Open Find jobs and type the role and the country or city in the search box.
- Open each listing and read the full description for the words visa, sponsorship, relocation or work permit.
- If the listing is silent, ask the employer in a message before you invest time. See how to message an employer and how to ask about sponsorship.
- Save a job alert so new listings for that role and place reach you.
Read the whole listing and the offer letter. A mention of sponsorship in a listing is not a promise of a visa, and a visa is always decided by the destination country's government.
