How do job alerts work?
Run a search and create a job alert. We email you when a new job matches, and remind you when a saved job is about to expire. Manage alerts under Your job alerts (Account settings, Notifications tab), where you can delete one. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Steps
- Search on Jobs, choose Create job alert, check the Alert name (it opens filled in; you can edit it) and choose Save. Alerts are sent as one daily summary; the screen offers no frequency choice.
- Review or delete alerts under Your job alerts, on the Notifications tab of Account settings. Delete asks you to confirm.
- To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any alert, or switch Saved search alerts off in Notifications. The separate Saved job reminders switch controls the reminder before a saved job closes.
Good to know
- The more specific the search, the more useful the alert.
Make an alert useful
- Use a specific search: a title, a place and one or two filters. A broad search produces a long daily email.
- Check the Alert name when you save. It opens filled in and you can edit it.
- Create a separate alert for each kind of job you want.
Common questions
How often do I get alert emails? Alerts are sent as one daily summary. The screen offers no frequency choice.
How do I stop them? Use the unsubscribe link in any alert, delete the alert under Your job alerts, or switch Saved search alerts off on the Notifications tab.
What is the Saved job reminders switch? It is separate. It controls the reminder before a saved job closes, so switching off alerts does not switch it off.
I get no alerts. See emails not arriving.
