Is LiveRec safe for job seekers in India? What it checks
Is LiveRec safe in India?: official channels as of 30 Oct 2026. Official links checked on 30 October 2026.
LiveRec lets you report any job or employer, shows a Verified mark only for companies whose US registration passed a registry check, requires two-step verification for employer and recruiter accounts, and keeps your ID result rather than your ID images. Verification is not a guarantee, so keep using the checks in this center.
For employers and recruiters
- A Verified business badge means the company's legal name, EIN and state registration were matched to an official registry. This applies to US registrations. Companies outside the US, including in India, can post jobs without the badge, so the absence of a badge on an Indian company is not itself a warning.
- Employer and recruiter accounts require two-step verification with an authenticator app.
- A Live Recruiter's client agreement is confirmed by the client from an emailed link and reviewed by LiveRec.
For job seekers
- You can verify your identity with a photo ID and selfie, using an Indian ID if you are in India, or complete self-verification, which a person reviews. Employers see the badge, not your ID images.
- Background checks run only when an employer orders one and you consent.
Reporting
Use Report job on a posting or Report employer on a company page. Reasons include Fake job, Asks me for money and Impersonating a company or person. The report is private, and our team reviews every report.
What LiveRec does not do
- It does not guarantee any employer's practices.
- It cannot see messages sent outside LiveRec, such as on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- It does not ask for payment from you on an employer's behalf.
Paying from India
Paying from India? You'll see the price in rupees (INR) at checkout and can pay by UPI, UPI AutoPay or an Indian card. The rupee amount includes a 2–4% currency conversion fee.

Use LiveRec checks with official ones
No site can promise that every posting is genuine, and LiveRec does not either. The safest approach is to combine what a job site shows with checks that you do yourself, using official sources.
| Question | Official place to check |
|---|---|
| Is a job portal charging me? | The National Career Service says it charges no fee at any stage, and job seekers should not pay fees to employers |
| Is a recruiter's call or message a fraud? | Report it on Chakshu through Sanchar Saathi |
| Did I lose money? | 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in |
| Is an overseas agent registered? | The eMigrate portal and the MEA helpline, 1800 11 3090 |
| How many mobile numbers are in my name? | TAFCOP on Sanchar Saathi |
Your own five checks, whatever site you use
- Read the full posting, not only the title.
- Check the company on its own website.
- Look at the contact domain.
- Ask for the offer in writing.
- Do not pay for a job.
Common mistakes
- Treating a badge or label as a guarantee.
- Skipping checks because a site is well known.
- Moving to a chat app for the interview.
- Forgetting to report a bad listing. On LiveRec, open the job and choose Report job. See report a job.
Where official help is
The NCS has a toll free helpline, 1514. The MEA's emigrant helpline is 1800 11 3090, on 24 hours in 11 Indian languages. Cyber fraud is 1930.
More questions people ask
Is the government portal safer than a private one?
Each has different checks. The NCS publishes a blacklist and says it is free, but you should still verify every employer.
Do I need to verify my identity to apply?
See the earlier sections for what LiveRec does and does not ask. Never share OTPs or banking passwords with anyone.
