How do I verify my phone number on LiveRec?
To verify your phone number, note that it is saved as contact information, but LiveRec does not currently send text-message codes. When a verification step asks for a code, it is sent to your email address instead. If a screen says "Phone codes are not switched on", check your inbox for the code.
What this means for you
- Verification is by email. Sign-up goes through Verify email. A separate phone step appears only when LiveRec requires it, and the phone screen then points you back to the email code.
- No text message is sent. If you are waiting for an SMS and nothing arrives, that is expected. This applies in every country, including India.
- Your number is still stored. You can enter or change it as plain contact data in your account settings.
Steps
- Enter the number in international format: a plus sign, then 8 to 15 digits, for example +14155550123 for a US number or +919876543210 for an Indian mobile number.
- If a screen asks for a verification code, open the email LiveRec sent and enter that code.
- No email? Look in spam, wait for the countdown, then request a new code. Only the newest code works. See the linked article on missing codes.
- To change the number, open Account settings, choose the About tab, edit your details and save. A number in the wrong format is refused with a message about the format.
Good to know
- LiveRec never asks for your password or a verification code by phone, text or chat.
- If you are locked out after several wrong codes, wait before trying again.
