What if my email already has a LiveRec account?

LiveRec EditorialUpdated

An email address can belong to only one LiveRec account, and that account has one role. If sign-up says the email already has an account, sign in with the method you first used, or reset your password. To use LiveRec in a second role, register that role with a different email address.

Which screen are you seeing?

  • "This email already has an account." An account with this email exists but was not yet verified, so Google sign-in could not be linked to it. Choose Sign in with your original method (for example your email and password) and finish verifying the email.
  • "Use a personal email to look for jobs." The email belongs to an employer team on LiveRec, and an employer team account cannot also be a job seeker account. Choose Sign up with a personal email address and register as a job seeker with that address.
  • A password or Google sign-in problem. You may have signed up the other way. Try Continue with Google, then your email and password.

Steps

  1. Try Continue with Google, then your email and password, with the address you think you used.
  2. If you cannot remember the password, choose Forgot password and enter the code emailed to you.
  3. If you want a job seeker account but your email is on an employer team, sign up with a different, personal email address.
  4. If you want to hire but your email is a job seeker account, register the company with a different email address. Your job search stays separate and your colleagues never see it.
  5. If nothing works, create a support ticket from Help & support or use the contact page, giving the email address. Do not send your password.

Good to know

  • Seeker plans and employer plans are billed separately, so a second account does not share a subscription.
  • A work email that is on an employer team cannot be reused for job seeking, which also keeps your job search private from your colleagues.
