What you need to verify your company
You need three things to verify your company: your legal company name, your 9-digit EIN from your IRS EIN letter (CP 575) or business tax return, and the US state where the company is registered. LiveRec uses them to check registration and good standing. No document upload is needed for the automatic check.
Steps
- Find your EIN on your IRS EIN letter (CP 575) or business tax returns.
- Confirm the exact legal name and state of formation.
- Open Company profile, choose Verify your business on the Overview tab, then enter the EIN and choose the State of registration. The legal company name is shown for you to check.
Good to know
- The screen explains why each item is asked, using the info icon beside the label.
- If the automatic check cannot verify you, the screen offers Upload documents instead. Upload one official document showing the business is registered: for an LLC a Certificate of Formation or Articles of Organization, for a corporation a Certificate of Incorporation or Articles of Incorporation, for a partnership a Certificate of Limited Partnership or state registration, for a sole proprietorship an assumed-name (DBA) certificate or Fictitious Business Name Statement, or for any business the IRS EIN confirmation letter (CP 575 or Letter 147C). A reviewer reads the file.
