How do affiliate referral links and tracking work?
Open Links in the affiliate portal and choose New link to create an affiliate referral link. For a specific job, open Jobs and press Get link on its row. The code is created and copied for you. Referrals are attributed from the click. The person you refer gets no discount.
Steps
- Links, New link: pick the job and press the button to create it; the link is copied for you.
- Or Jobs, then Get link on the job row.
- Share the link. The row menu on Links has View analytics, Copy link, Show QR code and Open link in a new tab. Asset library holds finished pictures and posts; see the asset library.
- To stop a link counting new clicks, choose Pause link (Resume link turns it back on). Its history stays. Edit link sends people somewhere else; the link code stays the same. Make this my main link sets your main link.
Edge cases
- Editing a link changes where it sends people, not its code, so past tracking is kept.
- There is a limit on links per account and a short cool-off if you make many at once.
- A sign-up is credited to the first link the person clicked, within 90 days of that click. Never bid on the LiveRec brand name in paid search (for example the keyword "LiveRec"). Paid ads must be approved by LiveRec before they run and must point at your own tagged link.
