Is LiveRec legit, and what does it check to keep job seekers safe?

LiveRec EditorialUpdated

US rules and agencies as of 30 Oct 2026. Official links checked on 30 October 2026.

Is LiveRec legit? It checks US companies against an official business registry, confirms recruiters' client agreements, requires two-step verification for employer and recruiter accounts, and lets you report any job or employer for a person on the team to review. It does not guarantee that every posting or message is genuine, so keep checking.

Employers

A US company gives its legal name, 9-digit EIN and state of registration. The check confirms the business exists and is in good standing with that state. A pass earns the Verified business badge on the public company page. The badge does not rate the workplace. Companies outside the US, such as in India, can post jobs without the badge. Employer accounts require two-step verification with an authenticator app.

Recruiters

A Live Recruiter works on behalf of a client company only after the client agreement is uploaded, the client contact confirms it from an emailed link, and LiveRec reviews and approves it. Recruiter accounts also require two-step verification.

Job seekers

You can verify your identity with a photo ID and selfie, or complete self-verification (a questionnaire and documents a person reviews). Employers see badges for checks you passed, never your ID images. Background checks run only when an employer orders one and you consent.

Reporting

Use Report job on a posting, or Report employer on a company page. The reasons include Fake job, Asks me for money, and Impersonating a company or person. Reports are private; the employer is not told who reported. You add optional detail up to 2,000 characters, and our team reviews every report. You need to be signed in to report. LiveRec does not tell you the outcome of a review.

What LiveRec does not do

  • A badge is not a guarantee of an employer's practices.
  • Verification is by registry for US companies; other countries are not covered by the badge.
  • LiveRec cannot see messages you receive outside the platform, such as on WhatsApp or text.

How this compares with the FTC's advice

The FTC says honest employers never ask you to pay for a job and that you should search the company and talk to someone you trust. LiveRec's checks add a registry check for US employers, but they sit alongside your own checks, not instead of them.

FAQ

Does LiveRec ever ask for my password? No. Support never asks for your password or codes.

Where do I report a security flaw? Email [email protected].

Does the Verified badge mean the job is guaranteed? No. It means the registration check passed. It does not rate the workplace or promise a hire.

How do I report a job on LiveRec? Open the job and choose Report job, or open a company page and choose Report employer. You need to be signed in.
