How does LiveRec pick my recommended jobs?

LiveRec EditorialUpdated

Recommended jobs, also called smart job matching, are open jobs ranked against your profile and shown on your dashboard. They are included in the Essential and Professional plans. LiveRec ranks by how well a job fits your visa situation, skills, location, pay and experience; none of this needs any extra setup beyond a complete profile.

What does the list show?

The Recommended jobs card on your dashboard shows up to five jobs. Each card has Quick apply and a Save job button. Choose View all to open the jobs list filtered to your profile. If you have already applied to a job, the card links to your application instead.

What decides the order?

  • Visa. A job that cannot work with the visa status on your profile is left out. This is the only hard rule.
  • Skills, location, pay and experience. These rank jobs higher or lower but do not remove them. A job in a different city can still appear, further down.

Because ranking reads your profile, a more complete profile gives better matches.

How do I get better recommendations?

  1. Keep your skills list current under Account settings, Skills.
  2. Fill in Preferences: job types, work arrangement, locations and pay.
  3. Set your visa status under Account settings, including whether you need sponsorship.
  4. Add your experience so seniority can be compared with the job.

Why does it say "No recommendations yet"?

The card reads "We don't have any job matches for you right now. Browse all open roles while we keep looking." That means no open job matched your profile at that moment. Completing your profile as above can help, and Browse all jobs shows every open role in the meantime.

Why is the card asking me to upgrade?

Recommended jobs are not part of the free and Basic plans. On those plans the card names the feature and offers See plans. Plan prices are shown after you sign in, under Subscriptions & billing.
