Transfer company ownership

Only the current owner can transfer company ownership, and only to an active member who is not already an owner. The new owner gets full control of the team, billing and hiring. You become an Admin and keep access to everything except billing and ownership.

The transfer is made in one step, so the only way back is for the new owner to transfer it again.

Steps

  1. Open Teams & permissions and find the member on the Team members tab.
  2. Open that member's row menu and choose Transfer ownership. The option appears only for an owner, and not on your own row.
  3. Read the message, tick I understand I will no longer be the owner.
  4. Choose Transfer ownership to confirm.

Good to know

  • If you are the only owner and want to close the account, transfer ownership first. Nobody can be invited as owner; ownership moves only this way.
