Screening questions, assessments and the question bank
Open Screening in the menu. The Screening questions tab holds your reusable screening questions, and the Assessments tab holds skills tests. The interview question bank is separate: open Interviews, then Interview questions. Screening questions and assessments attach to a job while you post it.
Steps
- Screening questions: on Screening, choose Add. Pick the Question type (Multiple choice, Checkboxes, Yes / No, Number, Short answer, Date or Time) and the Bank (Job role based or General), then write the Question. Use LiveRec library to start from ready-made questions.
- Knock-outs: switch on "Knock-out question". A wrong answer marks the applicant Knocked out so you can filter them. They can still apply. In the Post a job flow the same setting appears as Disqualifying.
- Assessments: on Screening, open the Assessments tab and choose Add an assessment. Name it, pick skills, a Time limit and a Pass mark, and add questions.
- In Post a job, the Skill assessments step has Create assessment, or you can choose one you have already built. You can choose several, up to the limit shown on the step.
- Interview question bank: on Interviews choose Interview questions, then Add a question. Add "What a strong answer covers" for your interviewers. Only your team sees it.
- AI: choose Build with AI, describe what you want to ask, then choose Create question. Review the result before using it.
Good to know
- Candidates take assessments after they apply. Nobody is stopped from applying.
- Choice and number questions on an assessment score themselves. Results show on the candidate's Screening tab, and you can filter the Candidates list by Screening result.
- Interview questions are never shown to the candidate. They are for your team during the interview.
- AI drafting for interview questions has a monthly allowance, and it is only included in paid plans. The page shows how many drafts you have left.
- Seekers choose whether to share their LiveRec test results with employers. This is the candidate's choice, not a link you send.
