How do I offboard a worker or change EOR pay?
US federal rules as of 30 Oct 2026.
Open the worker in Payroll > Workers and choose Offboard worker. Enter the last working day and a reason, then confirm. For employer-of-record (EOR) workers the button is Request to end employment: it is a request, and employment ends only when our payroll partner confirms it. Pay changes for EOR workers are checked first; some go to LiveRec review.
Steps
- Open Payroll, then Workers, and open the worker. (Or use the Offboard action in that worker's row menu.)
- Choose Offboard worker, or Request to end employment for an EOR worker.
- Enter the last working day and a reason. For a non-EOR worker also choose how final pay is handled.
- Confirm. For an EOR worker, follow the request on the same page: Sent to payroll, In progress with payroll, then Done.
- Optional for EOR workers: once the request is with the payroll partner, choose Remove LiveRec access.
Good to know
- For a non-EOR worker, final pay is your choice: in the next regular pay run, in an off-cycle run you create, or nothing more owed. For an EOR worker our payroll partner pays the final salary.
- Offboarded workers keep their documents and payslips and can still read them. Choose Rehire to bring them back.
- A pay change for an EOR worker creates a pay amendment for you and the worker to sign. Small raises submitted well before the payroll cutoff can go straight to the payroll partner; anything else waits for LiveRec review.
