Reject a candidate and send a message
Reject from the applicant list with the Reject button, or from the candidate page by opening the stage menu and choosing Rejected. LiveRec then asks "Let the candidate know?". You can send a short professional notice, or reject without telling them. Both moves are recorded on the application.
Steps
- On the job's applicant list choose Reject on the candidate. Or open the candidate, choose the stage button at the top (it reads "Stage: ..."), then pick Rejected under "Move to".
- In "Let the candidate know?" choose "Send them a professional notice" or "Reject without telling them".
- If you send a notice, edit the Subject and Message if you want to.
- Choose Reject candidate.
Set a default so it does not ask each time
- Tick "Don't ask me again: do this every time" in the dialog, or open Account settings, then the Rejections tab.
- Under "When I reject a candidate" choose "Ask me every time", "Send a professional notice" or "Reject without telling them".
- Under "The message candidates receive" edit the message, save named templates, or choose "Restore LiveRec's message".
- When a default applies, a short countdown with an Undo button appears before the rejection goes through.
Good to know
- With a notice, the candidate sees your message on their Rejected tab and gets a notification.
- Without a notice, the application moves to Rejected with no reason and no notification.
- To take a rejection back, move the candidate "Back to Applied" from the stage menu.
- The Rejections tab needs the rejection-settings permission.
