What is e-Shram?
e-Shram is the Ministry of Labour and Employment's national database portal for unorganised workers, including gig and platform workers and migrant workers. Workers register on a self-declaration basis and receive a Universal Account Number. Registration is used to deliver social security schemes and benefits.
Example
A delivery partner or migrant construction worker registers on the e-Shram portal with Aadhaar and a mobile number. Government schemes for unorganised workers are delivered through the registration.
