B.Tech Fresher Resume Format: how to format it section by section
A B.Tech fresher resume format for India should lead with your branch, CGPA and projects, since employers read these to judge fit before any interview. Keep it to one page, list technical skills honestly, describe two projects with outcomes, and link to code you can explain. A fictional sample follows each section.
At a glance
- One page: education, skills, projects, internships, achievements.
- List branch, university, CGPA and graduation year clearly.
- Describe projects by problem, tools used and what you built.
- Link to code or a portfolio you can discuss.
How to format a B.Tech fresher resume, section by section
Header
Name, city and state, mobile with country code, professional email and one or two links such as a code repository and a professional profile. Date of birth and address are optional.
Career objective or summary
Optional for freshers; if used, keep to two lines: "Computer science graduate with projects in web development and databases, seeking a software engineer trainee role." Skip adjectives.
Skills
Group Programming languages, Web or Core technologies, Databases, Tools and Core subjects (data structures, operating systems). Put the ones named in the campus or job notice first and leave out tools you have only read about.
Experience
Use two projects with verb, tools, result: "Built a library management web app in Java and MySQL with login and search; deployed on a test server." Add internship, hackathon or training entries with dates and what you did.
Education and credentials
B.Tech with branch, college, university, CGPA and year first, then diploma or Class 12 and Class 10 in short lines. Mention backlogs honestly only if the form asks; do not hide them in a way that contradicts your marksheet.
India conventions: photo, declaration, CTC and notice period
Photo is optional. No law makes you attach one, and a photo can invite bias, so add it only when an employer or walk-in notice asks for it, and then use a plain, recent passport-style image. A declaration line ("I declare the above is true to the best of my knowledge") is optional and now dated; if you keep it, keep it to one line with your name and place. Mentions of expected CTC are not expected on a fresher resume; wait for the HR round and see the CTC explanation guides we link below.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Read the posting and copy its exact terms into your summary, skills and bullets, but only where they describe work you have done. Put the requirement that appears first in the posting first in your skills block. If two jobs ask for different strengths, keep two versions of the B.Tech fresher resume rather than one vague one.
Before you send it, copy the resume into a plain text file and read it top to bottom. Headings should be in order, dates should line up and no line should be cut off. Then ask a friend in the field to read it for ten seconds and say what the job is. If they cannot, move your strongest B.Tech fresher facts higher.
Keywords recruiters scan for
Recruiters and screening software search for exact terms from the posting. These are common for a B.Tech fresher resume; use only the ones that are true for you, and match the spelling the job post uses.
B.Tech fresher, software engineer trainee, Java, Python, SQL, data structures, projects, internship, Git, campus placement, engineering graduate, fresher resume.
