Central Sterile Technician PRN

Responsible for the collection, decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Supports surgical services and hospital units by ensuring the availability of sterile instruments and supplies while adhering to regulatory standards. Works under the guidance of a certified technician or supervisor while completing certification requirements.

• Commitment to learning and achieving certification.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of or enrollment in a central sterile processing program preferred.

• Previous experience in healthcare or sterile processing environment preferred.

• Collect and decontaminate used instruments and equipment.
• Inspect and assemble surgical instrument sets.
• Operate autoclaves and sterilization equipment safely.
• Maintain inventory and storage of sterile supplies.
• Follow infection control guidelines (AAMI, AORN, OSHA).
• Communicate effectively with surgical and nursing teams.
• Document sterilization cycles and quality control checks.
• Assist with case cart assembly and distribution.

• Certification not required upon hire.
