Athletic Trainer (E27-501-15)

• Hold or qualify for West Virginia Certificate as required under State Board Policy 5112 and 5202 as Athletic Trainer
• Must meet athletic trainer registration requirements pursuant to WV Code 30-20A ((1-7).
• Possess the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully carry out responsibilities of the position

RESPONSBILITIES:

1. possesses the essential knowledge, skills, attitudes and credentials necessary to carry out the practices of prevention, evaluation, initial care and physical rehabilitation of injuries sustained by students engaged in public school athletics. 2. development of the athletic training program 3. implementation of the athletic training program 4. management of the athletic training program 5. cooperates with building principal, 6. cooperates with athletic director, 7. develops rapport with coaching staff within the school, 8. develops positive relationship with participants, 9. develops positive relationship with student body, 10. develops positive relationship with faculty, 11. develops positive relationship with parents and community, 12. develops positive relationship with game officials, 13. develops positive relationship with news media, 14. develops positive relationship with opponents, 15. employs appropriate conduct during games, 16. employs appropriate conduct during practices, 17. participates in activities that foster professional growth and development, 18. motivates staff and players toward desired goals, and commands respect by example in appearance, manners, behavior and language. 19. cares for equipment, 20. follows purchasing procedures, 21. follows board of education, league, conference, and WVSSAC policies, 22. devotes time and energy to duties, 23. follows end of season procedures,

SALARY: $7500 (Pro-rated for the remainder of the Season)
