What is Standing Orders?
Standing orders are written rules of service in an industrial establishment: classification of workers, working hours, leave, discipline and termination. Under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 they apply to establishments with 300 or more workers, and employers can adopt the model standing orders the government notifies.
Example
A factory with 400 workers adopts the model standing orders and informs the Certifying Officer. A worker's disciplinary process then follows the standing orders.
