What is Request for Evidence (RFE)?
A request for evidence (RFE) is a notice from USCIS saying an application or petition lacks information needed to decide it. It lists what is missing and sets a deadline to respond. It is not a denial. A complete, timely and organised response is important because USCIS can deny the case if the response is late or incomplete.
Example
After an H-1B petition, USCIS asks for evidence that the job is a specialty occupation. The employer responds with the job description, degree evaluations and a support letter before the deadline.
