What is Offer Letter?
An offer letter is the document an employer sends a selected candidate before joining, stating the role, CTC, joining date and key conditions. Accepting it creates an understanding, but the appointment letter issued on joining is the formal engagement the OSH Code requires. Check the CTC breakup and notice terms before signing.
Example
A letter offers 8 LPA with a joining date in 30 days and a six-month probation. Compare it with your later appointment letter; the figures and terms should match.
