How does a recruiting affiliate program pay commission?
Most recruiting and hiring-software affiliate programs pay commission as a percentage of what the referred business spends. At LiveRec, the job platform for job seekers, employers and recruiters, the rate is 15% of a referred employer's purchase, held before payout and reversible for 60 days after payment if the purchase is refunded. Rules as of 30 Oct 2026.
At a glance
- Employer first payment: 15%, capped at $500 per sale. Referred Live Recruiter: 15%, capped at $500. Seeker first payment: 20%. Sub-affiliate override: 5% of what they earn. Your Earnings page shows the rate that applies to you; the program can change rates with notice.
- Live Recruiter purchases: 15% of the recruiter's first payment, capped at $500 per sale..
- Only the first payment earns; renewals do not.
- Employers you refer get no discount.
Who should refer employers?
People who already talk to hiring managers: HR consultants, fractional recruiters, startup communities, small-business newsletters. A link only earns when someone buys, so relevance matters more than reach. Do not refer a company you would not recommend anyway.
What does 15% look like?
All figures are illustrative examples, not forecasts.
| Example employer purchase | Rate | Commission |
|---|---|---|
| USD 200.00 | 15% | USD 30.00 |
| USD 500.00 | 15% | USD 75.00 |
| USD 2,000.00 | 15% | USD 300.00 |
| USD 5,000.00 | 15% capped | USD 500.00 (cap; 15% would be USD 750.00) |
Clawback example: you are paid USD 15.00 on a USD 500 purchase; 20 days later the employer is refunded. The USD 15.00 can be reversed. If your balance is smaller, the shortfall carries forward; withdrawable balance never goes below zero.
How do I compare programs?

FAQ
Is a recruiter who places candidates an affiliate? Different thing. Live Recruiters earn placement fees from clients; affiliates earn a referral commission. See become an independent recruiter.
Can I refer my own employer? No. Referring yourself, your own company or a second account is against the program rules. If we see your own account, company or payment card, the commission is flagged and held as disputed while a person at LiveRec reviews it.
How do I track referrals? Your Dashboard and Earnings pages.
When do I get paid? See payouts.
