How can I earn money referring job seekers?

LiveRec EditorialUpdated

To earn money referring job seekers, join the LiveRec affiliate program, share your referral link, and earn 20% of that job seeker's first payment when they buy a plan. Nothing is paid for clicks or sign-ups alone. Most seekers use LiveRec free, so only some referrals earn anything. Income is not guaranteed. Rules as of 30 Oct 2026.

At a glance

  • 20% of a referred seeker's first payment; the seeker gets no discount. Your Earnings page shows the rate that applies to you; the program can change rates with notice.
  • Referral is attributed at the click. The first click on your link within 90 days before the person signs up is credited to you.
  • Held first, payable later, reversible for 60 days if refunded.
  • Free seekers can upload a resume but need a subscription to apply, which is when a purchase happens.

What are the steps?

  1. Apply and complete your profile.
  2. Under Links, New link, or Jobs, Get link for a specific job.
  3. Share where the link helps: a resume workshop, a community post, a newsletter answer.
  4. Track on Dashboard and Earnings.
  5. Get paid: ID check, tax form, $100 minimum. See payouts.

What does it earn? (Example only)

ExampleValue
Seeker purchaseUSD 100.00

CommissionUSD 20.00
Referrals needed to reach USD 100 balance at this size5

The USD 100 purchase is a made-up round number, not a LiveRec price. Real purchase sizes depend on the plan a person chooses at sign-up. These numbers are arithmetic, not a forecast.

What works and what backfires?

  • Helpful: answer a real question, link where the product fits (for example, a verified-employer job search).
  • Backfires: promising jobs or visas, posting links in unrelated groups, or hiding that you earn commission.
  • Never say LiveRec guarantees a job.

How do I disclose?

Put it at the link, in plain words, not only in a bio. Copy-paste: "Disclosure: I earn a commission if you buy through this link." For video or audio, say it aloud. Basis: FTC Endorsement Guides, 16 CFR Part 255.

What does a realistic first 30 days look like?

  1. Days 1 to 3: apply, finish your profile and read the program rules in the help center.
  2. Days 4 to 7: make one link for one place, such as a resume workshop handout or a community answer. One link per place tells you later where a sign-up came from.
  3. Weeks 2 to 3: answer real questions where job seekers already ask them. Mention LiveRec only when it fits the question, and put the disclosure next to the link.
  4. Week 4: open Dashboard and Earnings. Look at which link got clicks and which got sign-ups, then keep what works and drop the rest.

Remember the timing: a commission is held first, so money you earn this month is not payable this month. Plan on a delay and do not count a pending balance as income you can spend.

How should the disclosure look?

The FTC's guidance for social media influencers says a disclosure should sit with the endorsement itself, not only on a profile page, at the end of a post or behind a "more" link. It should use plain words such as "ad" or "sponsored", and a platform's built-in disclosure tool is not a substitute for your own clear wording. In video, include the disclosure in the audio as well as the description.

Where you shareWhere the disclosure goes
Blog post or newsletterDirectly above or beside the link, not in a footer
Social postIn the post text itself, not only in your bio
VideoSpoken in the video and written in the description
Chat or forum replyIn the same message as the link

This is the FTC's general guidance as accessed on 31 October 2026. It applies to US federal rules; other countries differ.

What mistakes cost affiliates commission?

  • Using an edited or old link. A link cannot be edited because the code is the tracking record. Make a new one instead.
  • Promising outcomes. Never say LiveRec guarantees a job, an interview or a visa.
  • Posting in unrelated groups. It breaks the program rules and annoys the people you want to help.
  • Hiding the relationship. A missing disclosure harms trust and can break the program rules.
  • Counting pending money. Pending is not payable until the hold ends.
  • Expecting a payment for a free user. Nothing is paid for clicks or free sign-ups alone.

FAQ

Do referred seekers get a discount? No.

What if they get a refund? The commission can be reversed within 60 days after you were paid.

Can I edit a link? No; deactivate and make a new one, since the code is the tracking record.

Do I need followers? No minimum.

How many referrals does it take to reach the minimum? It depends on the size of each purchase. The table above shows an example only, not a forecast.

Can I promote in job groups? Only where the group's rules allow links and where your post answers a question. Read the program rules before you post anywhere new.
