Job scam checker
Answer nine yes or no questions about a job offer you received to see a risk level. The checker only scores what you tell it. Nothing you enter is stored or sent, and LiveRec does not check or verify any employer or offer here.
How the risk level is worked out
Each question describes a sign that is common in job scams. Three signs are serious enough that one "yes" gives a high risk result by itself: being asked for a fee, being asked for an OTP, UPI PIN or bank login, and being asked to move money or buy things for the other side.
The other six signs add up. One "yes" gives a medium result. Two or more give a high result. "Not sure" raises a low result to medium, because a sign you cannot rule out is worth a second look.
A low result means none of your answers matched. It cannot confirm that an offer is genuine. Look up the company on its own website, find its contact details yourself, and never pay to get a job.
Assumptions and sources

- The signs follow the public job-scam guidance of the US Federal Trade Commission: up-front fees, requests for money, pay that is too good to be true and unusual ways of paying or being paid. Source: FTC, How to avoid a job scam.
- In the United States, report fraud to the FTC. In India, the national cybercrime helpline is 1930, online reports go to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, and suspicious calls and messages can be reported through Chakshu on the Sanchar Saathi portal. - The scoring is a simple rule written for this page, not a statistical model. It has no knowledge of the employer or the offer.
Frequently asked questions
- Does LiveRec verify the offer I enter?
- No. There is nothing to enter except your answers, and LiveRec does not check or verify any offer or employer through this page.
- Does the checker store my answers?
- No. It runs in your browser, stores nothing and sends nothing.
- What if I already paid or shared a code?
- Contact your bank or card issuer right away, then report it using the official channels shown with your result.
- Should I ever pay a fee for a job?
- No. A real employer does not charge you to hire you. Be careful with anyone who says a fee is refundable.
This is general information, not legal advice. A low result does not prove an offer is genuine. If you lost money or shared codes or documents, contact your bank and report it using the official channels listed with your result.
