JOB TITLE: Long- Term Substitute Bus Operator, Bus 90 LOCATION: Taylor County Schools Transportation EMPLOYMENT TERM: Until return of employee or change in employment status EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon board approval IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Coordinator of Transportation SELECTION: The position is filled by the Board of Education on recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED and must complete all state requirements for a bus operator. Salary- Salary based on experience and education level per TCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. Pay scale can be found at the following GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES AND GOALS: Employees in this classification are responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students attending Taylor County Public Schools.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/INDICATORS:

• Obey all traffic laws
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus
• Keeps assigned bus clean
• Keeps to assigned schedule
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
• Discharges students only at authorized stops
• Exercises responsible leadership when on extra-curricular school trips
• Transports only authorized students
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports
• Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus
• Uses tire chains when roads are icy; must be able to put chains on own bus
• Performs other such tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the superintendent or immediate supervisor may assign.

SALARY: Based on the Taylor County service personnel salary schedule
