Sobre el puesto

At Lilly, the work is demanding because patients are waiting. We unite caring with discovery to help make life better for people around the world, knowing that every decision, every detail, and every day matters. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, our over 50,000 employees around the globe take on complex challenges to discover and deliver life-changing medicines, strengthen how health is understood and managed, and support the communities we serve. This is hard, urgent, selfless work—but it’s work worth doing. If you’re driven by purpose and ready to bring your best to work that truly matters for patients, we invite you to join us.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain governed data objects (tables, materialized views, metric views) within Unity Catalog and the enterprise semantic layer, supporting a range of commercial analytics use cases across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Design and define key KPIs and metrics for brand and commercial stakeholders using HCP prescribing behaviour, activity, patient journey, and claims-based datasets, exercising sound judgment when data is incomplete or ambiguous.
  • Support the team's agentic AI initiatives by contributing to feedback triage and quality checks that keep AI-driven tools aligned with the governed data layer.
  • Participate across the full project lifecycle, including kick-off, methodology development, execution, insight generation, and results presentation, while developing into a trusted advisor to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across teams (data engineering, data science, functional product, BI) to resolve dependencies/open issues, prioritize backlog items  and identify technical debt and legacy dependencies and design governed, reusable alternatives.
  • Prepare clear analytical summaries and documentation, and communicate final outputs and recommendations directly to stakeholders.
  • Translate ambiguous or loosely-defined business requirements into technical specifications and user stories within an Agile delivery framework.
  • Continuously leverage AI/agentic tools to automate documentation, code review, and repetitive tasks, driving team efficiency.
  • Own data quality and validation for assigned data assets, validating outputs against production baselines and maintaining documentation, lineage, and version control.
  • Investigate and root-cause data discrepancies distinguishing genuine defects from issues owned elsewhere, and propose fixes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience carrying out the required responsibilities in pharma commercial/HCP analytics, claims-based analytics, or analytics in other industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous or loosely-defined business questions into structured solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake) and advanced SQL for building and reviewing large-scale data objects; familiarity with PySpark or Python or SAS is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of pharma claims data sources and U.S. HCP/patient-level analytics concepts is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical/data concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exposure to or strong interest in agentic AI/LLM-assisted engineering workflows that accelerate documentation, testing, and code review, paired with working knowledge of CI/CD concepts for data pipelines, including version control and environment promotion across development, test, and production.
  • Experience with Agile delivery practices (epics, stories, sprint planning) in a data product environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, using sound judgment to prioritize and resolve issues with incomplete information; strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Traditional BI tool experience (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus, as is exposure to building lightweight analytical front ends using frameworks such as Flask or Streamlit.
