Sobre el puesto
The primary purpose of the Clinical Services Coordinator position is to provide programmatic, operational, and supervisory oversight for designated clinical support services within the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. The position is responsible for coordinating and administering multiple components of Clinical Operations, including patient records, clinical compliance support, interpreter services, dental assistant operations, dental unit waterline monitoring and testing, clinical incident response, and operational support for after-hours student clinical activities.
The position provides direct supervision to the Clinical Services Team, establishing work priorities, coordinating activities across functional areas, monitoring operational effectiveness, addressing escalated issues, and supporting employee performance and accountability. The position works collaboratively with Clinical Operations leadership, supervisors, faculty, staff, and other School partners to ensure clinical support services are coordinated effectively and operate in accordance with established University, School, and clinical requirements.
The position exercises independent judgment and delegated authority in the administration of assigned clinical operations and processes, including evaluating operational and compliance-related issues, determining appropriate courses of action within established authority, coordinating responses to clinical incidents, monitoring waterline testing and compliance activities, and making operational decisions necessary to address identified concerns. This includes authority to restrict use of individual chairs or operatories when waterline concerns warrant action and to coordinate appropriate operational responses. Matters requiring broader clinical, organizational, personnel, or policy authority are escalated to Clinical Operations leadership.
The position also assesses clinical support workflows and operational needs, identifies gaps or recurring issues, and recommends and implements approved changes to procedures, workflows, work assignments, and operational practices to improve effectiveness, compliance, and continuity of clinical operations. The position serves as a resource regarding assigned Clinical Operations processes and facilitates communication and coordination among the functional areas under its oversight.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
