Agentic AI Project Engineer – Data Center

For our technology incubation team at Hitachi America R&D, we are seeking a highly motivated project engineer with strong expertise in deep learning, large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI architecture for enterprise and industrial applications. This position is ideal for candidates interested in applying advanced AI techniques to address challenges across several domains including healthcare system, material design, and financial services.

As a Project engineer, you will work alongside experienced researchers, engineers, and technology incubation leaders to develop, implement, and evaluate machine learning algorithms and LLM-driven agentic solutions for real-world enterprise use cases. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that advance the state-of-the-art in AI for critical infrastructure, while gaining hands-on experience with modern deep learning frameworks, LLMs, and large-scale datasets.

• Design and develop deep learning and LLM-based agentic AI models for enterprise and industrial applications.
• Explore and implement fine-tuned models for multi-modal image segmentation.
• Develop generative AI based models for contextual reasoning and create domain-specific reports.
• Analyze datasets, extract insights, and validate both model and agentic system performance.
• Present findings and contribute to technical documentation and research publications.
• Participate in regular team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and code reviews.

• Completed graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or other relevant engineering departments.
• Strong programming skills in Python and good exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, GraphRAG, and LLM APIs.
• Experience developing deep learning and large language model-based applications.
• Hands-on experience in building or integrating LLMs for agentic AI-based services, especially in industrial or engineering domains.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong aptitude towards building and testing projects.

• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy LLM-powered agentic workflows for industrial or engineering use cases.
• Background in healthcare, material science, or financial domains.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of data center power, cooling, and compute infrastructure.
