An employer is sponsoring my visa. What do I do?

LiveRec EditorialUpdated

When an employer is sponsoring your visa, the hiring company opens an immigration case only after you accept their job offer. You then follow it on the Immigration tab of that application, upload the documents they ask for and read the case history. LiveRec gives information, not legal advice.

Steps

  1. Accept the job offer on the Job offer tab of your application. The Immigration tab appears next to it once the offer is accepted.
  2. Open the Immigration tab. Until the company starts a case it says "Your immigration case has not started".
  3. Once the case exists, choose Upload (or Replace, if a file was rejected) beside each document requested from you. A confirmation says the file is under review.
  4. Follow Case status (status, USCIS case number, sponsoring company, form) and Case history.

Good to know

  • Visa process guides are readable on the Essential and Professional plans; Basic and free accounts see titles and an upgrade prompt.
  • You only get download links for files you are allowed to see; employer files do not appear to you.
  • Visa outcomes depend on the government and your facts; nothing here promises a result.
