What is H-1B Grace Period (60 Days)?
The H-1B grace period is a period of up to 60 consecutive days, or until the end of the authorized stay if sooner, during which an H-1B worker who has lost their job may remain in the US while they look for a new sponsor or change status. It is not a work permit. USCIS explains the conditions.
Example
An H-1B worker is laid off. The 60-day period starts from the last day of employment, and during it a new employer can file a petition. Working without authorization is not allowed.
